The Bendix yaw rate and acceleration sensor (YAS) is a critical safety component in heavy-duty commercial vehicle Electronic Stability Program (ESP) systems, measuring a vehicle’s rotation (yaw) and side-to-side movement (lateral acceleration). It detects oversteering, understeering, or potential rollovers, allowing the system to automatically adjust brakes or engine power.
