The Bendix yoke (or clevis) is secured to the end of the brake chamber push rod and then attached to the slack adjuster arm using a clevis pin. This mechanical connection allows the linear (pushing) motion from the brake chamber to be converted into the rotationaltorque needed by the slack adjuster to turn the brake camshaft and apply the foundation brakes.
