The Bendix® Air Disc Brake (ADB) service chamber is a pneumatic actuator that converts compressed air into mechanical force to engage the disc brakes on heavy-duty commercial vehicles. It operates by moving a pushrod to actuate the air disc brake caliper. Unlike a spring brake chamber which is a combination unit for parking and emergency braking, a service chamber is dedicated strictly to normal braking operations when the driver presses the brake pedal.
